O cugetare

Ma desprinsesem de trup. Orizontala. Pamantul parea departe. Negrul. Stelele imi calauzeau necontentita cautare.
Aveam in fata mea pe marii Intelepti.
Simteam micimea cunostintelor mele in comparatie cu tainele universale. Eram pe drumul cel bun. Perioada ce urmeaza acestei renasteri in lumea reala avea sa fie cea mai importanta, caci acum urma sa cioplesc in neantul fiintei pentru a imi castiga locul printre inaintasii mei.
In lumea asta noua in care imi petreceam eternitatea, o secunda se masura in mii de ani, iar viata unui om in clipe, caci clipa trebuie traita.
Eram intr-o perioada limpede. Foarte putine stele si o Lumina clara, intensa. Eram mult mai aproape decat m-as fi gandit. Si brusc un zbucium. Parca eram in ape tulburi. Gandurile mele pornisera pe cai gresite. Pamantul se marea in fata mea. Cadeam catre o noua stare primordiala.

Este necesara perfectionarea noastra in permanenta? Cartea in sine, vine sa umple un gol in cultura masonica romaneasca

The Symbolism of Freemasonry or Mystic Masonry

This Great Secret, this Master’s Word, was know to and preserved in the Mysteries of Antiquity, and is embodied and preserved in the traditions and symbols of Masonry today. This fact has been stated repeatedly in the body of this little book, the real purpose of which was to set students, and particularly masonic students, to searching for the real secret. It is the reward of study and devotion, and has never been obtained on any other terms. It has never been conferred in the ritualistic degrees of the lodge, and never will or can be. It is the establishment of understanding in the soul of man between that higher self in him, and the More, and the Beyond self from which he draws his life, and from which his intuitions spring. This is real Initiation: Becoming: At-one-ment.” “There are thousands of Masons, who realize that Masonry contains and implies far more than appears in the ritual and ceremonies of the Lodge. There is a very widespread and growing interest in this direction, and it is this that Mystic Masonry, above all else, is designed to foster, encourage, and help.”

The Book of the Words

Masonry is permeated with powerful symbolism-both verbal and pictorial-that arouses the mental, spiritual,  and intellectual life of those who use them. This extremely interesting  study, once limited to 150 copies, gives the correct spelling of, and analyzes all the “significant words” (pass words, etc.) in, the Scottish Rite from the 1st through 30th degrees inclusive. In addition to being  an etymological dictionary Pike explains why any given word was chosen for a given degree thereby revealing the hidden symbolism of each word. Illustrated and highly recommended.

“Thus while Jachin symbolized the state of erection of the membrum virile, when prepared for begetting or creating, in the womb, Boaz symbolized the potency, rigor, and fierce and even cruel desire of the same member. It was the sexual vigor and power, the inordinate lust of the goat, that gate that animal the name daz or Oaz.”

Morals and Dogma

The book is composed of Pike’s ruminations and essays on the Degrees of the Scottish Rite, from the 1st to the 32nd. It is intended as a guidebook for people entering the Scottish Rite, and explains Pike’s understanding of the symbolism and allegory in the degrees he wrote. However, it is a truly imposing tome. There are 861 pages of text and a 218 page index; the book itself is over two inches thick. There are thirty-two chapters, each discussing the philosophical symbolism of a degree of Freemasonry in extensive detail. In the Preface to the 1950 Edition, the editors wrote about Pike thus:

“In preparing this work, the Grand Commander has been about equally Author and Compiler; since he has extracted quite half of its contents from the works of the best writers and most philosophic or eloquent thinkers. Perhaps it would have been better and more acceptable if he had extracted more and written less.”

It includes the three basic degrees of the Ancient York Rite, and four additional advanced degrees. There are over a hundred illustrations, all reproduced here, which show important details of the rituals, including gestures and symbolic pictures. Duncan’s Ritual is careful to note known variations where they exist. This book will be of interest to beginning Masons who want a roadmap of the craft, as well as experienced Masons who need a review.

A classic reference book containing the actual rituals that are still practiced today in Masonic lodges.
